Hotel Ideon - Rethymno (Crete)

The breakfast selection was excellent and satisfied my needs daily. The pool area was well-maintained and perfect for relaxation. The staff offered helpful recommendations for local attractions. It was an enjoyable experience 🌞

A good choice of options for breakfast in the bar.

This hotel is beautiful, clean, modern, large and nicely decorated. The room was spacious with a large balcony. The breakfast was great the staff very helpful. The hotel is in a great location on the waterfront an easy walk to the fortress, old town and harborfront. The hotel is upscale and also great value.

great stay but faced parking issues

The recent refurbishment is evident, with a stylish design that creates a pleasant atmosphere. The friendly staff genuinely enhances the experience. I adored the fine sea view from our room. The pool provided a refreshing retreat after a day of exploring.

Finding parking was quite a challenge in the area and took more time than it should have.

Hotel Ideon is up to date, perfectly located to stroll in the old city, but not the best choice for beach lovers. However there is a nice swimming pool which was open in low season, although it was so chilly nobody could use it. Breakfast was correct by Greek standards, with hot scrambled eggs as an extra. Free parking is easy (in April). Taverns, shops, clubs etc. a galore in the vicinity but the hotel was very quiet. Once again we got a room with sea view at no extra charge. Nice lounge and bar; polite staff.

We regretted not to be able to drop the luggage in front of the entrance, as it is at the border of a pedestrian district and the way is blocked by big flowerpots. So we chose to stop on the main street side with the 4 blinkers on instead of dragging the bags from the parking site, maybe 200 m away. It seemed us easy for the hotel / municipality to find a solution to that. Once more and again: absolutely no service is to be expected about luggage anywhere in Europe. Cash and carry !

Perfect location and friendly staff

The room was recently refurbished and had a fantastic sea view, made mornings special. The breakfast offered a great selection, especially the traditional Greek yogurt. Though the bathroom was a bit small, everything else was immaculate and well-maintained.

Brilliant location with good standard accommodation. The hotel is well run and clean. The hotel is ideally situated to explore the old town to shop and dine in the many family restaurants whilst also only a km away from the beach. Relative to other Greek hotels and apartments, hotel ideon is very nice indeed.

Fabulous hotel, kind and informative stuff, exceptional location on the waterfront. Good bed, cosy room with a particularly good view of the Aegean sea...

The spacious pool was perfect. Our room had a charming view of the old town streets.

Best staff, excellent services, and unbeatable location not far from the harbour, old town and swimming places and the port, restaurants, fort, and museums. Well prepared breakfast with a hundred dishes. Very good check-in and late check-out, parking across the street. Pool area available for guests too.

Make sure to explore the local tavernas nearby for delicious authentic Cretan cuisine. It's a culinary experience you won't want to miss.

Staying here offered a wonderful experience, especially the friendly staff and the great central location near the old town with plenty of restaurants. The pool was nice, but some rooms have disappointing views. Breakfast was decent, though it could use more variety. A pleasant trip.

Amazing place with its great wi-fi, 24-hour reception, and outdoor swimming pool. The staff helped me find the best exchange rates during my first stay, nice. I'm returning for a new year!

We explored the old town and visited a fine beach. The location is fantastic, right by the water, and the breakfast was really good. The rooms are modern and clean. There's a nice pool on site. Definitely recommend it for a fun group trip!

One downside was parking. It can be tricky to find free spots since they fill up fast, especially during busier seasons.
